Well, having done loads of plexs and anomolies for every empire factoin area, i can tell you this:
From the standard anomolies, dont ever expect much (1%?), i very very very very rarely if ever got anything from the stupid little tiny ones ever. If anything, the foresaken/forlorn type of anomolies will be the ones that will spawn an occasional (maybe 3% or 5% or more) factoin spawn, or give u an escalation. I've been much more successful with the scanned down signatures.
When you find the dens, or the other things u have to scan down (sorry its been a few months since ive done it so i cant remmber names) it seems that you have a random chance to get an escalation from any of them, really. but some more than others. i honeslty think theres a different escalation type for every type of scandown. Since i've done so damn many and really clear entire constallations at a time, there have been weeks where i get none, due to a lack of any scandown fight sites, and then some weeks where i have 4 or 5 escalations waiting for me.
id honestly give the escalations a good/great/awesome chance at a faction spawn, but i very RARELY ever actually get ANY drop at all from highsec escalations. Maybe a tag, and some factoin ammox1000, but that is ALL. I really only get anythign worthwhile from the ocassional really rare scan down, or the FINAL stage of an escalation (where you dont just "lose" the trail, and actually seem to complete the mission by what the text lore says)
Some scandowns tend to have overlord structures, which can easily be found on the overview, most the time they didnt have anything in it, and others it would spawn an overlord NPC which also generally wouldnt have anythign in it, but has a much much better chance. I can say I've found a Dramiel BPC and a Succubus BPC, maybe 25 low level deadspace/faction mods, and maybe 3 or 5 medium/high level. but thats with monnnths of scanning, and easily... 700+ anomolies/scandowns.
So, the chances are low, but it is very much fun, and sometimes u get some good ones. but probably 20-30% as lucrative as L4's if u did it as much.
